KAREN BLACKMAN
Karen, has led a yoga community for over 17 years (an adventure in itself) and she has organised retreats and various activities – all with rave reviews. Her goal has always been to encourage people around her to have fun while being safe and to get out there and try something new. She pushes the envelope and encourages herself to step out of her comfort zone – a philosophy she imparts to her sangha community. “Karen doesn’t just think outside the box, with Karen, there is no box!” She gets her travel bug from her parents – her dad always found a new place to go and her mum planned the interesting things to do once there.
NICOLA Z. CROSS
Born in Tanzania, raised by her father in Trinidad and Tobago, and summers spent with her mum travelling through Europe, sparked Nicola’s fascination for travel and culture. Now, when Nicola travels she works with people using filmmaking and storytelling tools for reflection and transformation. She immerses herself in communities in a way that is outside the norm. Nicola doesn’t just travel through her destinations she lives and breathes the culture, the way of life and is conscious of her impact on the people and places she visits.
THE MAP
We arrive in Cairo, then head to Giza. From Giza we go to Siwa. After Siwa we head to Marsa Matruh and back to Cairo.

Below find a detailed listing of the activities for each day. Keep in mind, however, we are not trying to be on a strict schedule. This is NOT a yoga retreat or a teacher training. This is an adventure trip, that may or may not have yoga, depending on how we feel. Also, you don’t have to do all the activities. We have back-up options for those who would like to do something else.
